Welcome
Edit
Hi, welcome to Fallout Answers! Thanks for your edit to the How many Fallout games are there page. If you need help, and there are no local admins here, you may want to visit the forums on the Community Central Wiki -- Angela (Talk) 22:26, 6 April 2010
Fallout Answers
Edit
I will swing by here now and then, mostly whenever there is a Fallout 1 or 2 question posted that I know I can answer. Or just when the occasion strikes me. I am more regularly found at the Vault. Thanks -- Ghouly89 (Talk) 22:50, May 7, 2010 (UTC)
NCR Quiz
Edit
Hi. I don't think even with the bright red "RIGHT HERE", people are going to see it (you know how people are). I know it's possible to make the entire text bright red, but is it possible to make it flashing as well? I think that would draw more attention. Kastera1000 17:13, February 19, 2011 (UTC)
Ban
Edit
Would you mind banning this guy? He's been nothing but trouble. Thanks, Kastera (talk) 02:01, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
- Got another one for you. Kastera (talk) 21:06, May 6, 2011 (UTC)
- ...And what might that be?
- Nice... thanks for the recommendation.
Promotion
Edit
I've promoted Kastera to admin and you to bureaucrat. Congratulations! Ausir(talk) 17:37, May 7, 2011 (UTC)
Welcome back
Edit
This site really picked up right after you left. I managed to get some new members to join from The Vault. It's good to have you back; it's a challenge maintaining this place without a partner. Kastera (talk) 04:30, May 14, 2011 (UTC)
Permaban
Edit
Should this guy get the permaban I placed on him, for his talk of XBOX modding? Kastera (talk) 23:22, May 27, 2011 (UTC)
DUPLICATES
Edit
I swear, this wiki is hard to regulate. We get around 1,000 questions a week and most of them are duplicates anyway. I've been going through the answered questions list and deleting duplicate; I've been working for about half an hour and I've already deleted 65 questions (all of them duplicates) and I'm not even through the A's. Kastera (talk) 05:14, June 11, 2011 (UTC)
Policies and guidlines
Edit
We both know that this site is a bit out of control, so I've made up the rough draft of the guidelines and policies that we should regulate. You can find it here. Please revise, add, subtract anything that seems off. We really need some order on this site. In the future, I may ask the admins of The Vault to get over here as well to regualte. Would you mind making the administrator here as well? We already know we can trust them, and Lord knows we need some order here. Kastera (talk) 17:54, June 30, 2011 (UTC)
- I wasn't asking for approval, I was just asking if there was anything beyond what I had that should be added. But you're on vacation, so it can wait. Have fun. Kastera (talk) 16:18, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry to bother you, but there's one last question. Is the spiel about modding necessary? I've been conversing with GhostAvatar and he thinks that that information shouldn't be handled on this site and handled more at the modding wikia. We can still keep the spiel on here, but does it really belong in the policies/guidelines? Kastera (talk) 03:54, July 4, 2011 (UTC)
Talk page delete
Edit
Do you have a particular reason for deleting my talkpage? I see there is no explanation on the page at all. True, I do not contribute to this wiki at all, and I'm guessing my edits here come from Wikianswers (before they were moved here); but still it is such an unnecessary measure. I do not have anything against it, but still want to know. If it is a community decision, I have no issues, but I've only seen admins deleting user pages for inactivity, but talk pages are generally not deleted unless there is an important reason for it. --Liliana (my talk). 13:32, August 17, 2011 (UTC)
Hi, any chance you can block this person who is currently leaving troll questions on the site at a rate of around one every 5 mins?
Re: Red Alert
Edit
All of his "contributions" have a been deleted. Now all we have to worry about is anons recreating the pages. Other than that, I think we're safe... for now. I started to delete them this morning, but I had to go to work. --Kastera (talk) 17:57, August 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Nope, had to them all manually. I wish there was a big, red button to nuke their contributions, but alas, no such things exist.
- You've gotta do what you've gotta do... And Tezzla's been a problem ever since he made an account on The Vault, so it was just a matter of time before he slipped up here.
- Oh, he's been a hassle at many points. The major thing he did was post a video with the airliner crashing into the World Trade Center and then stating how funny it was. He then proceeded to get into an arguement and insult a lot of people (mostly admins) about how the 9/11 vieo was not innapropriate and everyone needs to lighten up. He's also been using a lot of proxy IP's to evade his bans (I think it's 3 now), so we have to keep circumventing his bans. So far, we're pretty sure that these three accounts are all his.
I already asked Ausir about it bit ago. He said, "Making it for logged in users only is not really an option because in general, answers wikis are targeted mostly at anonymous users. If someone is a registered user, chances are they are capable of finding the answers to their questions on The Vault itself.". So putting in an IP filter isn't a viable option.
- I don't see why we need to ban IP's. The vandalization was done by a registered member. In all three of the situations in the past, the vandaliztion was done by a registered user so banning IP address from editing here won't solve the problem.
IP ban
Edit
OK, it's ultimately up to you, since you're the bureaucrat. If you think a two week IP ban is a step in the right direction, you can do it. Besides, it's not like I can stop you. This may be a bad time to ask, but could you consider promoting me to a burauecrat, so I can make other trusted users I "recruit" from The Vault into administraots, so we can build a better team here. Mull it over in you head and let me know. --Kastera (talk) 20:38, August 26, 2011 (UTC)
- I'll keep you posted. I may make a forum post on The Vault trying to others to join. Let's hope it works.
Hi there
Edit
Hi, Kastera invited me over, said you needed some help and picked some of us. I just thought that I would come by and say hello to the boss ;). See you around, ![]()
.
Well thanks a lot, and thanks for having me ;). Just wondering when we all start properly though? ![]()
- Oh, Kastera told us we'd be helping as new admin, so that I could help by deleting them myself etc. Is that wrong?

Recruits
Edit
Alright, I've found some new people willing to be admins. Sorry to get back to you so late in the day. I forgot it was Monday (certainly a bad case of the Mondays). I've grouped them in 'dedicated' and 'somwehat dedicated' meaning they are willign to help, but may have other obligations hindering them from helping as often as they like.
Dedicated

Somewhat dedicated

Categories
Edit
Do you know how I can change the categories already on the page? They don't show up in the code, and I can only add down the bottom: ideas? Also, I've started my Grand Overhaul of categories ;). ![]()
I've solved that, but now I have a bigger problem; some of the categories, such as Answered questions, now don't show up at all. I think the best way to solve these problems, for example having multiple variations on Fallout: New Vegas, is to wipe all categories and start again. I'll be here everyday for the next couple of weeks for around 4-10 hours if you can do this for me, or give me the power to do it myself, but it seems with people trying to help by adding categories, there are numerous ones for the same thing. ![]()
- Yes that's fine, I'll do that. It's just a different layout to what I'm used to a the Vault. And sorry, of course I can, I was just in a rush earlier :). The task you gave me was to sort out the categories, and they are a mess at the moment (no offence intended). I got you're message on the Fallout one too. I've re-thought it through, and I'll just have to sift through one by one to resort all the answers etc before anything can be deleted.
Here's my plan in stages: 1. Put all categories into the new 'hidden' master category
2. Sift through duplicate/incorrect ones and recategorise them as the correct ones
3. Mark the now empty categories for deletion/delete them depending on how recently I complete them.
4. Check incoming questions are categorised
5. Complete all 19309 and have a cup of tea ;)
What do you think? As I say, I'm just here to help and this is your wiki after all :). ![]()
- I see that you sorted the answered questions category out, so thanks. Also, I'm doing a more detailed plan here and links etc. Feel free to add, just sign it so I don't get my own thoughts muddled up -> User:GuardianOfTheWastes/Sandbox1
So far I know I've only caused you problems, so I'd like to apologise. I'm just not used to this new format, but give me a day or so of proper work with it and I will be. Thanks, (what can I call you for short?) ![]()
- Yes duplicates are a huge problem. For example typing the letter T into the search throws up multiple different spellings of the T51-B Power Armor.
- I know that many need to be removed, but I don't have the power to do that. I'll have to wait 'til the IP ban drops if we're still following the original plan ;)

I'll see them through , don't worry. It may take a few years though ;) ![]()
Admins
Edit
The actual page for admins can be found here. But let's keep the quotes; I like that. --Kastera (talk) 18:17, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Hey whatever, man. I'll still transfer the users to the admin page, just for good measure. By the by, have you put any thought into me becoming a bureaucrat?
Deleting
Edit
I couldn't get to editing as much, as I just returned from dinner, and the Vault chat was devoid of admins/mods except me, and alot of troublemakers =/. At least it's all dealt with. Hugs Scar: "Say 'ello to my little friend!" 18:41, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
Vandal
Edit
Wish I could have helped, but I was at school. I see you guys took care of it though. Looking forward to helping soon. --

- I prefer to keep an eye on Special:RecentChanges, as it shows all edits. I tried to install an auto updating that auto-refreshes the page. But, it seems to not to want to work here. I need to have a word with Porter to see what extensions need to be enabled for the Wiki for it to work.

Vandal attack
Edit
I was away for a while, apologies. --![]()
19:39, September 1, 2011 (UTC)
- Damn, I'm sorry. I was at the cinema with my friends. It's typical that it would happen the one time I'm not around to help. I'll keep an eye out for him. Sorry again,

.
We've got another
Edit
He's probably the same one actually [1]. Anyway we need a massive clean-up on aisle 3. ![]()
- We've sorted all the pages with actual names that look like questions that someone may be lured into answering. Now, I feel it is best to wait for the nuke button we've asked for. However, I'll get straight back to deleting if you just say you want me to.

I sent a message on a staff member of Wikia that I know a little name Taelovesthesharks, but anyway we can delete all pages of Tezzla alone (over 1000 pages - [2]), it would waste the time for everyone, just wait and see for now. Itachou [~talk~] 15:10, September 2, 2011 (UTC)
Greetings and Quacking Wallabies!!
Edit
Hello there. I'm new to the Answers wiki, and to the Admin team, so... 'allo! Also, Now I know Who Tandi Is! ... not that I really... had a reason to wonder uh... before, I guess?
Also... wait... what's this about a Marjorie? Did you used to have a pic of her up on your profile or something?

Portal
Edit
The front page looks much better now :). That really if a job well done ;). The best thing is that we can now see an equal amount of unanswered and answered questions. ![]()
- I was trying to ban one of his incarnations and accidentally banned you. I undid it straight away, but it was an accident. Sorry :(.

Re: Good, bad, ugly
Edit
Good: It is a nice site design, but I'm not the one responsible. Ghost did it all (he's our tech wiz 'roudn these parts).
Bad: The person who left you a message on the Vault was a past spammer inviting you into their "alliance". However, this was on Aug. 2, so maybe I'm telling you the right person if it happened recently.
Ugly: Apply aloe and vitamin E gel to your hands every 6 hours or so. That should help with the blisters and catcus hands. --Kastera (talk) 21:19, September 12, 2011 (UTC)
Curtain
Edit
Alright. Do you know if there has been any advancement with w:c:community:User Talk:Sannse#Regarding the Vault and Halo Nations? GhostAvatar hasn't messaged me back with anything. --Kastera (talk) 21:19, September 23, 2011 (UTC)
- Well, all we can do is hope Ghost messages one of us sometime in the near future. --Kastera (talk) 21:27, September 23, 2011 (UTC)
Anon editing
Edit
After today, I think the repeal of the anon block was a seemingly bad move. Both Yes-Man and I have found heaps of forum question, spam and vandalism, all of which was caused by anons. Surely you'll reconsider to a permanent reinstatement of the IP block? --Kastera (talk) 23:13, September 25, 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, I'm not one to miss the irony in it. I suppose you can't realize what you have until it's gone, eh? But the admin team won't go to waste; more people means more diversified answers and that can't be bad. While I'm on the subject, I put the Forum:Updates in the community tab at the top for easier access. --Kastera (talk) 21:25, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
- On this subject, a day late, the ban is none existent. Behold this, anon asked question, anon answered. Is the ban up or down? Also, if you wouldn't mind, could you maybe explain your user page? It's naturally intriguing.

- That is what I meant :). Team fortress two yes? I can't say I've played it, but everyone seems to love it... Is it good?

- Haha, yes I can see you are very passionate about it. Just for your explination alone, I will have to look into it at some point. I presume it is on Steam?

- Why, do you suggest I get it on something else? And, I have NV on PS3 I'm afraid, I can't afford a good enough PC yet...

- Hahaha, yes I have steam, that's why I asked ;). Thanks for the detailed explination though. Sorry, about being late to reply too; the message thing did not pop up. Happens more and more frequently at the moment.

FO3 and NV list
Edit
The FO3 and NV top 10 FAQ list has one question marked for deletion. Number 4 comes up with a marked for deletion template but I don't know what the question is. Do you have a way of finding it?

Quick note
Edit
I'll be unleashing the bot soon, so be aware that if the pages start dropping, it's just me starting the task you gave me months ago ;). GuardianBot 12:25, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
- Whatever you want. So far me and GA have been adding any answer with either Tandi or Boone in it as a test to a category. Tandi answers, or Boone answers respectively. We will then structure the site around the browse by keyword theme, with asking a question (hopefully) as a last resort. GuardianBot
- Why? What happened to your PC? And it won't, that is why it is a 'bot'. Wikia marks it to mask the edits... No-one will even know it exists if they don't have to ;). GuardianBot 19:00, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
- Moved? Like, by an employer? GuardianBot 19:21, October 29, 2011 (UTC)
- I see. Is that what you normally do? Short-term contracts? Also, please respond here because otherwise it stops the bot -> Guardian 12:25, October 30, 2011 (UTC)
You're back
Edit
Good to see you back; it's been... what? 10 days? Nice work on the Christmas colors around the site. I'd have prefered blue and white, but I suppose more users are Christian. --Kastera (talk) 16:44, December 24, 2011 (UTC)
- Crazy, no. European, no. Jewish, yes. Hannukah colors are blue and white. My schedule is basically that of any student, since I'm a teacher, so when they have time off (like now), so do I. It almost makes up for the underpaid wages :(. -Kastera (talk) 05:52, December 25, 2011 (UTC)
"Shame on you, Wikia"
Edit
Is this in regards to the Ausir situation? --Kastera (talk) 02:26, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Yeah, I've got to agree. That was a big dick move by Wikia. --18:55, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
