Template:Character Leroy Walker is a slaver from Paradise Falls, the leader of a 6-man squad of Slavers who have occupied the Lincoln Memorial while hunting for the runaway slave group Temple of the Union. He can generally be found in the Operations Office on the ground floor; go left while facing the steps into the Memorial itself. Do not go up the stairs, or everyone in the area will immediately become hostile.

Leroy carries Metal Armor, which can be rather useful though it carries a -1 penalty to Agility.

Head of State

Main article: Head of State

Leroy plays a substantial role in Head of State: he and his team of slavers have already cleared the area of Super mutants, something Hannibal Hamlin requests of you. However, the slavers have laid claim to the Memorial and show no signs of leaving. If notified of the slaver threat, Hannibal will ask the player to deal with them however he sees fit.

Alternately, the player can simply open fire on Leroy; his death brings no Karma penalty, but it may immediately set every slaver outside as hostile.

(Tip: If the player choose to tell Leroy where the escaped slaves are, he, Silas and the other Slavers will start running to the Temple of the Union. Follow them, and when they are standing close enough to each other they can be easily be killed with Fatman or any similar massively explosive weapon.)

If the player sides with the slavers, and should Leroy survive the ensuing battle at the Temple of the Union, then he can later be found at the food kiosk in Paradise Falls.

Unmarked quest: Lincoln's Profit Margins

Leroy offers the player the opportunity to locate various items related to Abraham Lincoln; his intent is to destroy them in order to rob any escaped slaves of a figure and thus break their spirits. He asks the player to go to a "nearby ruin" which turns out to be the Museum of American History, and will pay caps for any item returned to him.

Notes

  • If you decide to wipe out the town of Paradise Falls, Leroy Walker may not become hostile towards you, instead he will just stand there near the food kiosk eating or drinking. You can even go up to him after killing everyone and talk to him.
  • If you have already wiped out the town of Paradise Falls, you will be greeted nicely, but the slavers at the memorial are hostile.
  • Leroy's squad of slavers appears to be neutral towards the Brotherhood of Steel and the Raiders, who will ignore them as they make their way from the Lincoln Memorial to the Temple of the Union. They will still be attacked by Super Mutants, rogue robots, and critters. They are 6 high-level combatants, so they do put up a good fight (and can even take out a few Super Mutant Brute squads without major casualties), but are still liable to be wiped out by a Deathclaw or several consecutive Yao Guai or Giant Radscorpions.
  • If you already wiped out the slavers at Paradise Falls, but would like to get to Speak to Leroy, there's at least one way. Using a Stealth Boy (or the Chinese Stealth Armor) go into sneak mode before you approach the Memorial. Even though you're hidden, Silas will still go through the dialogue with you. Stay hidden, and go to the side door and inside to see Leroy. As long as none of the Slavers spotted you, Leroy will be there and will be friendly. You'll have normal dialogue options, and can offer to help him, etc. Remember to sneak back out or you'll be fired on.

Appearances

Leroy Walker only appears in Fallout 3.
