Godfrey is a Mr. Handy robot butler that will take care of your apartment in Tenpenny Tower should you have chosen to blow up Megaton. He has a few small albeit useful features and a stereotypical British accent. He can sense when you are injured when you walk into your suite, he can tell you where to buy items for your room, he can dispense free Purified Water to a limited extent, he can give you a free haircut, and he can also tell jokes, which are often science-related.
He is limited on the jokes and Purified Water, it may take some time for them to replenish. It appears that you can get five purified water per week, or so. Note that if you did destroy Megaton in The Power of the Atom quest, your karma is most likely very, very evil. Giving Purified Water to Willy, the beggar found not far outside Tenpenny Tower (though any of the other water beggars will serve the same purpose), is one way for the player to raise his or her karma back up, though this may take weeks of game time.

Notes
If you kill Godfrey 2 times he will not respawn. I'm not sure if he respawns as the previous user said he did, I killed him and saved over it on accident, and it's been roughly 1 month in the game and he's still dead.
Appearances
Godfrey appears only in Fallout 3.
